My Favorite Pre-Workout Kick in the Pants!

Okay, so the title of this post doesn't make complete sense, but it's all good. Y'all know what I'm saying. ;-)

First, I would like to declare my love for beta-alanine, especially First Order. I want to share with you my favorite pre-workout concoction! I accidentally stumbled across this beauty while in a rush to get to the gym. The first time I mixed it up, I did not know that I would want this before every single workout!

Ingredients
1 pkt First Order
1 heaping teaspoon of creatine
8oz. water

Mix up that goodness in a shaker cup and down it approximately 15 minutes before your workout. If I need an extra kick, I add a dropper full of Green Tea concentrate.

Tastes like Kool-Aid!

Disclaimer: Beta-Alanine may cause a tingling sensation.

No Carb Protein Pancakes

Well, today is my first low fat, low carb day of PSMF. I have a feeling No Carb Protein Pancakes will be a staple in my diet on these days.

Ingredients:
VPX Zero Carb Protein Powder
2 Egg Whites
Non-stick Cooking Spray

  1. Spray pan with non-stick cooking spray. Heat on Medium.
  2. While the pan is warming up, blend one scoop of VPX Zero Carb Protein Powder with 2 Egg Whites.
  3. Pour mixture into pan. Once bubbles form, flip to cook the other side of the pancake.

That's it! Easy enough, huh? Now, don't get me wrong, it's not as good as a nice, fluffy, homemade pancake, or even a Bisquick pancake, but it hits the spot and is good enough! If your diet has the room, top with sugar-free syrup, mixed berries, and Cool Whip! Delish!

My diet just got hardcore. I'm talking Ron Jeremy/Jenna Jameson kind of hardcore! ;-) My awesome coach has prescribed me a PSMF style diet. I have always wanted to try it. I'm a sucker for giving diets a whirl, being the very precocious Nutrionista that I am.

... okay, now I'm making up words. Back to PSMF, which stands for Protein Sparing Modified Fast. In a very non-detailed nutshell, I get to eat truckloads of food on Training Days (refeed). On Non-Training Days I do not eat much at all. The goal? Rapid fat loss. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get to keep a lot of my muscle in the process.

I'm ready to tear this shizz up!!

Scrumptious Vanilla Cranberry Loaf - Of course it's healthy!

While meal prepping on Saturday, I threw this lovely concoction together. I may have found the Holy Grail of protein loaves! This recipe makes one loaf.

1 whole egg
20g oats (approximately 1/4c)
1/2 ounce cranberries

3. Throw in Magic Bullet (or blender) and BLEND the following:

Pour mixture into loaf pan

4. Sprinkle 1/2 ounce of dried cranberries onto loaf.

8 Weeks and 4 Days Out!

Time is passing a little too quickly! Will I be lean enough? Will my posing be just right? Will my suit be finished? There are so many questions bouncing around in my head. Only time will tell!

I finally started stoning my suit. I was able to get a custom blank suit for a bargain, thanks to bartering, and I already had the necessary supplies and Swarovski crystals for stoning. So far, I have invested a good 1.5-2 hours stoning my suit. It is nowhere near finished.

Here she is... let the stoning process begin!

As some of you know, suits are friggin' expensive. I'm pretty happy with my thrifty craftiness, even if it means I will have to inhale days upon days worth of glue fumes to get it complete. :o)

For those interested, here are products I use to stone my suits:

Jewel Setters: These truly make setting the stones super simple!

E6000 Adhesive:

Toothpicks: for applying the glue!

and, of course, Swarovski crystals:
